Home Organization

Hey, it’s a new year! Did you make a new year’s resolution like Deborah did? The stuff that we all accumulate can really add up. Are these items just stuff? Or does it have some kind of significance in your life?

The real question is do you have a well organized home?

People on the hoarder end of the spectrum can have great difficulty removing extraneous items. On the other end, are the very, very tidy homes of minimalists whose homes are extremely organized, but they still struggle with getting a home ready to sell. Then there are people everywhere in between.

No matter where you are on the spectrum of a tidy, well-organized home, it’s important to declutter and get rid of unneeded items throughout the year. Why are you keeping clothes that fit in high school, but haven’t fit you in ages-either in size or style? How about those clothes that you keep meaning to mend, but are still sitting in the pile you put them in a long time ago. Point being is that maybe it’s time to get rid of clothes you don’t wear.

How about your kitchen? Do you have old pots and pans that don’t really work well, anymore? Do you have a drawer full of sauce packets that just seem to keep multiplying? If you have old chemicals or bottles that contain little bits of old chemicals, you’ll want to take those to the El Paso County Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Check out the El Paso County Hazardous Waste Facility here to find a list of all the items they accept and where to bring them.
