Are you thinking about buying a house? Wondering what the loan process is like and what to expect? Today, Deborah Elliott-Shultz and Ryan Herbig of American Liberty Mortgage discuss some of the programs available and the guidelines of getting a mortgage.
In the past year, the guidelines around mortgages have stayed mostly the same and your credit score is still a huge factor. What do you do if you need a bit of help with the mortgage and down payment? Well, there are programs out there to help you and your mortgage lender will be able to help point you in the right direction.
The three most well known are FHA, Conventional, and VA. Each has different criteria and fees, and you’ll want to be aware of what those are. Your credit score, experience in the field you’re working in, length of time in your chosen field, military service, tax returns, and monetary gifts all play a part in determining which programs you can take part in, or if you want to take part in them.
Come listen as Deborah and Ryan discuss the types of programs available, some options and things to consider if you are looking to invest in real estate, as well as why it’s important to keep your lender and realtor as two separate people.
